This is one of my favorites from Bloodwarm. Such a gorgeous and heart wrenching chapbook.

Just wrote my 100th poem! (Only 27 have been published so far so maybe concentrate on revision now)

I took my husband to his first poetry reading last night to hear Ada Limón. He had tears in his eyes after the first poem. I think I’ll keep him.

I’m interested in this too… I’ve been part of a writing group for nearly 3 years. We meet every Friday with new or revised work. We met at a Poetry Certificate class taught by the San Diego poet laureate and we didn’t want it to end.

This new poem is included

My sister said her good friend from Thailand is coming to collect live cicadas to make a dish that she will love. 😳

My sister keeps sending me pictures from Nashville of the cicadas emerging and I’m so jealous!

Well I didn’t win the chapbook contest I wanted, but my daughter gifted me another redheaded grandchild! They are not my bio children so I consider this a small miracle. Her 7 yr old cried when she saw her and said, “mommy did you make her?” Yes she did, women are amazing.

What symbolism is in a daytime visit from a pair of barn owls? 😳

What would make a submission that was “received” nearly a year ago, completely disappear?
