In recovery, we like to talk about taking a personal inventory.

This means recognizing things you did well throughout your day, and what could be improved.

I suggest writing them down on a pad and pen, or writing them in your phone notes.

Try it and let me know how it goes!

Many people are turned off by recovery meetings because they talk about god.

It doesn’t have to be religious. For me, GOD means “Good Orderly Direction”, which means doing the next right thing.

Be open minded and find out what works best for you.

A few weeks ago I met with my friend Dovi and we had a great conversation about gratitude, and how very often, we can take people in our lives for granted.

Let’s be grateful for the people in our lives; I am grateful for friends like Dovi!

Create a ‘sanctuary’.

Have a special place in your home where you can unwind and relax, whether it’s meditating, journaling, or listening to your favorite podcast.

Try it and let me know if this works for you!

Pray for all the good things you would want for yourself, and then pray that this person has the same gifts.

I did this 25 years ago with my ex husband and now we are friends.

I never thought that would happen.
Try it, you have nothing to lose -except your anger and resentment.

Prioritizing your needs is very important in sobriety.

Take time to reflect on your needs, goals and desires and prioritize needs based on urgency and what suits YOU best.

Set specific goals for various areas of your life like career, health, relationships, and personal growth.

In recovery, the goal is to transition from merely 'talking the talk' to 'walking the walk' by embracing the program, making positive changes, and maintaining sobriety and personal growth over the long term. It's about the sincere commitment to a healthier and more fulfilled life

It's impossible for you to always satisfy the needs of others. Especially if you want to live a happy sober life.

During my first year of sobriety, I tried to make up for lost time by putting my needs last.

Know your values, take care of yourself, and prioritize your needs.

By drinking, you don't truly resolve your problems. Instead, you mask them for a fleeting moment.

Sobriety is a transformative journey that leads to a newfound sense of empowerment.

In sobriety, you will find the strength to face your problems and overcome them!

When you stop people pleasing, people will not be pleased…

Have you ever noticed that when you say no, people aren’t happy?

It’s because they are not used to you saying no when you begin to change - and that’s okay.

They will learn that no is a complete sentence!
