#OnThisDay in 1954 John Landy, in the first race of his overseas tour, won the Mile at Turku 🇫🇮 in a new 🇦🇺
record of 4-01.6, also setting a 1500m record (3-43.4) en-route. He would return to Turku a few weeks later to attempt to beat the World Record.
