BROADCOM $AVGO expects AI-chips to account for 35% of semiconductor revenues in 2024, up from just 15% in 2023. That would constitute a jump from $4.3B in AI-chip related sales, to over $10B.

If this news is indeed correct, and I suspect it is, it's yet more evidence of failed US policies. Remember the US thought their policies were stopping China's semiconductor industry from advancing further than 14nm, and now China are reportedly at 5nm. It's rumoured to appear in…

Do we really need to finance every conflict on the planet?

Let’s just move Taiwan Semiconductor to the USA. Wouldn’t that be cheaper?

Friendly note to MSNBC: it's *semiconductors*, not superconductors. 😉 Once you’ve got that, now the important part: I’m the only Presidential candidate willing to state that we WILL defend Taiwan. The U.S. currently doesn’t even recognize Taiwan as a nation. Democrats and…

They're just slowing down to let U.S. companies catch up with Chinese chip design companies...
If there is no export control... I don't believe the US semiconductor ecosystem will be destroyed this year, the US doesn't have to wait until 2027

Let's assume $SMH Semiconductors completed a cup and handle base, went on a bull run, and then created a bull flag. The measured move would be right around that 300ish area which is right around the Fib extension which has been important so far. That area is about 35% higher.

Industrial policy across sectors can have a multiplier effect.

China’s solar industry benefited from its R&D on semiconductors. China’s high-speed rail built on its aerospace research. Chinese EVs draw directly on China’s smartphone supply chain, as Robinson Meyer points out. 1/

Pres. Joe Biden is bragging about imposing the following on Americans; 25% on steel & aluminum, 50% on semiconductors, 100% on EVs, and 50% on solar panels. These are taxes that will raise the price of all goods subject to tariff and will only add to the economic misery.
