This is my PCOS body.
After bleeding continuously for ONE YEAR AND THREE WEEKS my period has finally stopped.
This is a TIRED body. A year of randomly passing out, blood transfusions AND COVID.
Cheers to the first day of being able to work out since Feb 2020.

Hirsutism in women with PCOS associated with high levels androgens.

It can happen if the level of these hormones increases or if your body becomes more sensitive to them.

Hirsutism causes women to have thick, dark hair on their face, neck, chest, tummy, and or lower back.

This cis woman—like me and others with PCOS hirsutism—spends time, $$$ removing full mustache+beard we naturally grow. Facial hair removal is a gender affirming process we do just like trans women to make our physical appearance match our gender identity.

Carrying life these past 9 months has been the most magical thing I've ever experienced. After 5 years of trying, 5 years of fertility/PCOS issues, 5 years of thinking I'd never get to bring life to this world, God gave us a miracle. Our miracle baby boy made his way yesterday ❤️

For those who think I tweet too much about pregnancy, I’m 37, I have PCOS and I always saw myself as someone who would probably adopt. The pregnancy has been a blessing, I’m excited and I probably won’t have the experience again so I’m going to share my joy (and pain) 😂🥰

pcos effects all women differently and the fact that there's people making fun of her for this is dumb asf.

it's something that's very hard to manage, you have to basically change your whole lifestyle to keep symptoms in control (or at least the ones you CAN control)

1 in every 10 women have PCOS, diagnosed or not.

Hair growing in unusual places? Thinning hair? Period irregularity? You probably have it.

Please get checked. It may not be curable, but it can be chained down to be more manageable.

The entire conservative argument against birth control access goes back to their belief that they have a divine right to impose their arachic ideologies on others.

A six months alternating routine of Keto and Intermittent Fasting improves both diabetes and significantly lessens the symptoms of PCOS.

I know from experience since PCOS mimicks diabetes I terms of insulin resistance. This is also the only way I've ever lost weight with PCOS.

Third trimester is here! After my PCOS diagnosis and years of trying, I almost thought this journey would never happen for me. 12 (ish) more weeks until we meet our baby girl 🥰

Birth control is a medication that not only prevents pregnancy, but is also used to address medical conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, low estrogen disorders, etc.

Denying people access to needed medication is what would cause actual harm.

My old “ bestfriend” was a “ RN” and I was having pain from my PCOS & asked her for pain killers and she gave me a antipsychotic sedative & gave me enough to cause brain damage(5mg) when the normal dose is 0.5mg LOL. I had to see a neurologist for 3 months.
