♦️ Advantages & uses:
- Safe in renal impairment
- Rapid onst of action and short duration

♦️Disadvantages:
- Unpredictable effect and pharmacokinetics
- Monitoring is essential (aPTT)
- More side effects (bleeding - HIT - osteoporosis )

⭕️ Low molecular weight heparin (LMWH)
Enoxaparin (clexane )

♦️Advantages:
- Longer duration of action
- Predictable effect and pharmacokinetics
- Monitoring isn't essential
- Less side effects (bleeding - HIT)

♦️Disadvantages
- Liver injury
- Not used in renal impairment
