Pleasant couple of hours around Eyemore Wood and Trimpley Res. Quietish bird wise. Woods incl. 20+ Siskin flock feeding, Nuthatch, 3+ Coal Tit, Goldcrest, GSW, Buzzard swooping thru, plenty of Chiffs singing and calling. Only 7 Cormorants and 3 GCGs braving a blustery reservoir.

Popped up to Gladhouse at the end of the day to see Norman Milligan female Scaup - first I’ve seen here in a long time. Also managed to see both GCGs at close quarters - quite a size difference between them 😮

Copenhagen hol incl day trip to Malmo - Hooded Crows in both cities were an expected year tick but a Golden Oriole heard calling in a park near The Little Mermaid less so! In both places Common Terns and single Kittiwakes in the harbours, GCGs with young in the parks, many Swifts

Nosterfield Yorkshire Wildlife Trust this pm, around Flask Lake in sunshine. Curlew, ruff, lapwing, pied wagtail, 16 mute swans, heron, buzzards, g. woodpecker, grey partridge, greylag and canada geese, collared doves, long tails, kestrel and GCGs, teal and cormorant. Lovely trip with Mary

St Aidan's yesterday RSPB Leeds Local Group RSPB Fairburn Ings and RSPB St Aidan’s Devastating to see the impact of bird flu. Nice to see the GCGs courting and reed and sedge warblers squawking, lapwings, shovelers and oyster-catchers racing overhead.

Tatton Mere late p.m./early eve in rain - small no of hirundines mainly Sand Martins with the odd Swallow (year tick) and 1 House Martin (year tick). Goldeneyes still present mainly paired up, Stonechat 1m, Greylag 2, Tufties, GCGs. Several Red Deer walked by! Cheshire & Wirral Ornithological Society
