May 6th 1982: MV Atlantic Causeway enters Devonport dockyard to begin conversion to carry helicopters. She will leave on May 12th complete with a hangar, refuelling system and helipads, and with 8 Sea King & 20 Wessex on board... that's some turnaround!!

On May 7, 1765, HMS Victory was launched at Chatham Dockyard, Kent. She wasn't commissioned until 1778. Today also marks 422 days since Cllr Sarah Warren said she wanted a healthy debate on LTNs and how we get around in Bath. We expect her to do her duty.

Falklands Diary '82 - Visited Portsmouth Historic Dockyard today. Lots to see. Boathouse 4 accommodates FOXTROT 8, a beautifully reconditioned LCVP from HMS Fearless. A fully operating Falklands Campaign veteran. Highly recommended. Looked after by Gavin and Paul.

We all have seen landing of aeroplanes, most of us may not have seen landing of ships in dockyard.... see it, it's breathtaking.

The #Perfumery is open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and closed on Sunday and Public Holidays. Our Boutique Shop at the National Museum of #Bermuda in Dockyard is open 10am to 4pm if there is a ship in port. No entry fee required to visit the store.
