When I bought my first DSLR I chose Nikon as an homage to the cameras Mr. Mather taught me how to use in the Thurso High School art dept. I still shoot on Nikon now.

On this day in 2022, Guy Lafleur died.
Born in 1951 in Thurso, Quebec, he played in the NHL from 1971-1985 & 1988-1991.
In his career, he won five Stanley Cups, three Art Ross, two Harts & a Conn Smythe.
In 1988, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

AIDAsol cruise ship came to Scrabster and over 2000 people descended upon Thurso....that's about 1/4 of the town's population.

Don’t suppose any county fans would be able to help. Young boy from Thurso has been selected as a mascot but is unable to get a strip. If anyone has an age 5-6 strip they would be willing to let him borrow it would be appreciated.

Day 2, part 2, NC500. The next stop HAD to be Helmsdale. Home to the utterly incredible Edwyn Collins. Beautiful, quiet place, museums & lots of walking routes. And then, finally, I made it!!

Broken the initial drive, with stops at Stirling & Perth (where I'll stay tonight). Around 280 miles today, soundtracked by a very old demo recording of The Smiths. Mozz on the M74! Up the A9 to Inverness tmro, and then starting the NC500 to Thurso. Around 250 miles with detours.

Thurso. Sounds like something you dip your net curtains in to.
