From July 1943 to March 1944 in Ternopil, today in Ukraine, Pole Irena Gut, born #OTD in 1918, gave shelter to ten Jews in a villa of a German major, where she worked as a housekeeper.

All ten survived WW2.

In all, Irena saved seventeen lives from German-made Holocaust.
