I'm losing my mind what's the point of lying like this. Paxlovid wasn't available at the start of the pandemic, there was no data about metformin's benefits w COVID at that time, and you can't even get Pax w/o a pos test so how did you get one to just 'carry with you'

James I have permanent damage to multiple organs and over $50k in medical expenses so far. One infection - 4 vaccines + Paxlovid. No comorbidity. Other risk mitigation is needed such as air filtration, masking…false sense of security.

When The Wife got COVID she thought she could ride it through. It hit so hard, we couldn't get the drug fast enough

Paxlovid had a soothing effect within 24 hrs

Don't hesitate folks. Lean on the medicine

To quote The Wife
'it doesn't help the F*ng sore throat though'

Uh-oh.
As of June 30, 2023 Ontario will WIND DOWN free COVID-19 rapid tests in pharmacies & grocery stores.

💊 How will I know if PAXLOVID is needed?
🧑🏽‍🦼How are the vulnerable & HIGH-risk to know?
😨 What about⤴️long COVID risk from repeat infections?

Paxlovid wasn’t even available the first two years of the pandemic. Please don’t take advice like this from twitter.

They don’t “trust” the Covid vaccine, but the minute these folks are getting their asses kicked by this virus they’re demanding Paxlovid. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!

I was turned down for Paxlovid at urgent care because “Omicron is mild.” I went to pharmacy clinic after and got Paxlovid. Still got long COVID. $50k in out of pocket to try to survive to date. Typing from HBOT chamber.

I am not okay with people telling others that vaccines prevent long COVID. It's misinformation and it's dangerous. Nobody wants long COVID. It takes everything in your life away. It's truly the most horrible illness. I want my life back and we need real therapeutics.

Like how is this real life?!
I fucking HATE it here.
This country is a goddamn shithole.
Our healthcare system is completely collapsed, and the pandemic rages on while the immediate care receptionist literally
asked
ME
“what’s paxlovid?”
when I called 😭🤬

Those 50yr+ that had their 2nd bivalent last year are vulnerable to SARSCov2 as vaccine efficacy will have waned.

CDC qualifies 50yrs + as risk factor for severe COVID (eligible for Paxlovid).

No warning for this demographic.

Nada.

When the omicron wave was forecasted, patients said “this will be millions with — We desperately need a public warning.” None came.

Public health failed and continues to fail so many, & I honestly don’t see how trust is ever rebuilt at this point.

Covid Report KARE 11 What if I am already on the long COVID ride and want off? Paxlovid didn’t help. “All the tools” failed me. Avoid infection, that is the only guarantee to avoid this.

Vaccines + Paxlovid did not prevent long COVID. The only way to avoid it is not get infected. No approved treatment = no cure. Long may be permanent.

What is the fucking point of an anti-viral for if you can’t fucking get it?!
My partner is symptomatic and tested RAT+ but it’s fucking Friday evening, so there is no access to primary care… so no because NO URGENT CARE OR PHARMACIST WILL RX IT!?

Ppl need to take early treatment way more seriously. I hear so much of, “it wasn’t so bad, so I didn’t take anything & my doc didn’t think I needed it. But now I have Longcovid so wtf?”

Early treatment reduces LC! Demand it! Metformin, paxlovid, saline nasal sprays, gargle etc!

One difference between the antiviral effect of vs is that paxlovid has an effect through day 5 & then with short half-life, fades. In contrast 14 days of metformin, the antiviral effect increases over time.
At day 10, -0.64 log for MET vs. -0.35 for PAX.

This is genocide for disabled people.
No one's going to test and we're going to bear the brunt of it. Mark my fucking words.
And if we don't get to test -- because we can't afford them, they're like $200 a box -- then we can't use Paxlovid. And we die.

Three things I did at the start of the pandemic:

1. Got my Vitamin D Levels above 70
2. Started off label metformin
3. Got a script for Paxlovid to carry with me.

There is NO healthcare system that will be there for you, do it for yourself.

You can get METFORMIN off label.

Excellent piece. I think Pax may benefit the unvaccinated. Beyond that, I doubt there is much benefit. The studies the approval were based on show this pretty clearly. Most docs I know rarely prescribe Pax. medpagetoday.com/opinion/second…
