⭕️ Low molecular weight heparin (LMWH)
Enoxaparin (clexane )

♦️Advantages:
- Longer duration of action
- Predictable effect and pharmacokinetics
- Monitoring isn't essential
- Less side effects (bleeding - HIT)

♦️Disadvantages
- Liver injury
- Not used in renal impairment

DVT is common after total knee arthroplasty. We know the common risk factors ( patients over 60 years of age, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, female sex). Most surgeons use prophylactic anticoagulant to prevent DVT. There are risk factors that increases the risk even with LMWH
