I was blocked and isolated from accessing any service 'until the judge says that I am in fact a victim' to quote my IDVA and former bent copper! Presumably to reinforce my Police informant-perpetrator's narrative. Anyone else felt their human rights were violated as a victim? #dv

An IDVA is an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor - hugely important in supporting victims of domestic abuse. I support a number of organisations across Thames Valley, funding IDVAs to help victims.

Very important, in my own area it was the work of IDVA's to educate those FC magistrates who were interested on matters relating to DA. Fantastic work by the IDVA's of course, though it should not fall to them. Signed

In practise, this law does not exist at all. My case was dealt by approx 20 officers within 6 m and all of which lost the evidence and failed to communicate anything. My IDVA or anybody never assisted me in reporting nor explained how harrowing the route through trial will be.☹️
