Fun day portable despite very wet and windy weather! contest. Pleased with 8.5 contacts: 4 , 3 and 1.5 with local stations. Some work to do to improve for next time! Took but abandoned after 1 QSO due to rain!!

Finally 3.4GHz TVTR on test. 20W out no problem. Just need some labels to remember what goes where then out for a field trial if I can find another human to work!

Some new to me lab additions.

10W and 30W attenuators for the high GHz bands will be good companions for my power meters.

Patchwork fun with a β€œFranco” SU-02 10GHz PCB.
The pieces now all fit together nicely in the enclosure and the PSU still works. Now to see if I can get the rest of it working again without any devices letting the magic smoke out. 🀞

The companies last month announced that they had achieved ultra high speed 100 Gbps transmissions in the 100 GHz & 300 GHz bands at distances of up to 100 metres. That speed is approximately 20 times faster than the maximum 4.9 Gbps data rate of current 5G networks.

If you’re having WiFi issues:

I had issues during Covid remote work era. Signals were fine, ISP was fine, but interference was the issue.

If you’re using a bad ISP like PTCL, switch if you can.

If you’re using 2.4GHz routers, invest in better dual band routers. 2.4 GHz gets
