A wonderful species rich meadow, full of 1000s of southern marsh orchids in our village
Grazed early with a late hay cut taken. Farmer gave us permission so we could have a look around. Passing on the love of nature to my little one πŸ’š

Ewe lambs grazing a newly created wildflower meadow this week before they head to the next block of cover crops. Aiming to graze the grass down tightly, giving the wildflowers a good chance to grow on in the spring, also stimulating the seed bank in the soil.

An incredible amount of Dung beetle activity over the cows coming in for milking this afternoon. The farm is alive with insects that depend on how we farm. withnature

A wet, gloomy and windy morning was brightened yesterday by spotting this .

It flew over my head then took shelter in the to avoid the rooks?/ravens? that were shooing it away.

If it wasn’t for the wind noise you would hear this field humming with bees 🐝. It’s fantastic when you manage to get a cover crop established early enough to flower.

Incalf heifers enjoying some of our AECS wild bird seed. We're allowed to graze this from 1st March. It's fed birds all winter, now these heifers!
Not the biggest crop with dry '23. Planned since 2022, great to see in practice.

Hopefully the video quality is good enough to see all the swallows dipping , diving and swooping around the cattle catching the pesky flys. Have your fill guys and have a safe journey back to Africa!
