While it is a relief that the Conroe ISD board voted down recommendations to censor additional science textbook content, it is alarming and disappointing that the board majority voted to censor any SBOE approved, TEKS aligned content, whatsoever.

Last week Conroe ISD (my city) rejected a biology textbook because its chromosome section explained how DNA evidence was used to prove Thomas Jefferson fathered a child w/Sally Hemings.

While absurd for any school district, it’s galling for the city that produced Annette Gordon-Reed.
