The Lithuanian conductor Giedrė Šlekytė takes over the musical direction of an opera at the #Semperoper for the first time with »La bohème« on Friday. Last summer, she stood on the podium of the Staatskapelle Dresden for a concert. 3x toi to her!

On Sunday, January 8, 2023, our longtime respected colleague & former General Music Director of the Staatskapelle Dresden, Professor Siegfried Kurz, passed away. The #semperoper expresses sincere condolences to the family.🖤

Today the curtain opened for the last time this season on Martin Smolka’s children’s opera »Das schlaue Gretchen« in Andrea Kramer’s staging. We thank all those involved in this colorful, amusing and entertaining production! #semperoper

The #Semperoperballett bids a fond farewell to its Senior Ballet Mistress Olga Kostritzky, who is now returning to the USA. After various guest residencies in Dresden, Olga was contracted as a Senior Ballet Mistress at the Semperoper Ballett in 2021. We wish her all the best!

From 2 to 16/04/2023, the Richard Strauss Days will take place at #Semperoper . The programme includes »Der Rosenkavalier«, »Arabella« & a concert performance of »Ariadne auf Naxos« as well as other concerts and supporting events. All information can be found on our website.

Premiere on 22 Dec: Inspired by the Grimm fairy tales, the Prague composer Martin Smolka created the children’s opera »Das schlaue Gretchen« (The Clever Gretchen) in 2006, which will be seen on the stage of Semper Zwei from 22 December in Andrea Kramer’s staging. #semperoper
