I’m new to gesture drawing/life drawing like this, but I’m enjoying it more than I ever thought I would! It’s a great app. I highly recommend it if you have a Quest VR headset.

Not sure how I feel about this.

Procreate is designed for the iPad. That’s part of the experience. Part of what makes it special.

That said… Procreate on desktop would go a long way toward slaying the Adobe dragon now that they’ve fallen to the dark side with AI.

The 2-part Steve Martin documentary on Apple TV+ is soooooooo good.

It’s a great companion piece to his book “Born Standing Up.” If you live a creative life, it’s a must-watch. Steve’s lifetime study of creativity is inspiring.

The process of creating is crucial to learning and growing as an artist. You make discoveries, have revelations, come up with new approaches, techniques, ideas. The process is something most artists enjoy and value deeply. If it feels like 'mundane drudgery,' ask yourself why.

Stopped by the comic shop last night. Picked up some old favorites, some new favorites, and the latest Diamond Previews because I may have something in there soon and I wanted to see what it’s like these days.

Rob Guillory’s (Chew, Farmhand) YouTube channel is very HIM: friendly, unassuming, and full of good advice for creators.

He sought me out to welcome me to Image Comics when I took ODDLY NORMAL there. His videos are reflective of his kind spirit;

Patch Zircher The main reason Aparo remained on Batman well into the 90s was because editor Denny O'Neil loved working with him so much that he intentionally assigned him as the main artist in the big Knightfall chapters as to give him access to royalties to end his career.

I finally picked up Gesture VR and spent some time with it.

AMAZING tool. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it, I’m not really a traditional artist and never thought I’d enjoy this kind of drawing.

But before I knew it, I’d spent 1 1/2 hours sketching models.

HIGHLY recommended! 👍👍
