A4) So lucky to be in a crew of six personalized learning coaches. They are my joy and they keep me growing. Our glue is that we embrace each other’s uniqueness which pushes us to help our colleagues discover the uniqueness in all students and staff across our district.

So all of a sudden I can’t see the chat on my phone or laptop so if I am not responding so sorry! restarting my laptop but please tag me if you’d like. I just can’t see anything through the hashtag :( thanks for your patience and the questions will still pop up.

A2) Can't express enough the power in assemblies where students and staff can share their stories. When a student grabs the mic and shares what many might not know, the energy in the air shifts and the impact is invaluable. Pics from our last assembly.

A1) I honestly do a lot of self-talk. It’s easy to compare myself to others and focus on what I haven’t accomplished yet, but even as we learn and grow, who we are and what we have to offer in any given moment is enough.

Nili Bartley, personalized learning coach from MA, and grateful to be hosting the chat today. Something people may not know is that I was a drummer who still enjoys playing a bucket every now and then:)

A4) We are piloting a MA based initiative around career and academic planning- excited to see how students drive their own experience.

A3) It would be pretty cool to offer electives in some way before high school and have them geared toward a variety of career pathways for students to explore. We have had career fairs at the middle schools which have been fantastic and are having another one this year.

A2) We're infusing more career exploration as well as strength and passion based learning in the younger grades leading up to high school as well as in high school. Students are able to explore possible pathways based on their interests which has been awesome to see.

A1) I don't remember talking much about in high school but we had local technical education high schools many kids chose to go to. In junior high, we had choices like sewing, cooking, metal shop, and wood shop classes.
