For many years, white men (which I am myself) have stated that being nice and kind in daily interactions will wash away racism, misogyny, homophobia etc. Unfortunately these structures are as firmly present as ever at organisational & cultural levels. Impacting staff & patients.

Unfortunately being a decent human being doesn’t solve systemic issues or implicit bias.

EDI is one way of trying to address systemic issues. Tick boxes sometimes yes, but should prompt further analysis, self reflection & progression for all.
