TOMORROW: our amazing Felt colleague Erica Fischer will be speaking at Maptime Oakland about some of the technical backing of the product. You know her work from Tippecanoe and you’ll want to hear her talk about her contributions in person.

Sweet new @Felt feature we’ve been testing internally for the past months is now live: comments and public feedback on any map, for registered and public users alike. Makes Felt an immediate killer app for local feedback and team collaboration of any kind!

Raster is Faster! New work from Felt now supports raster data like GeoTIFFs and tile server URLs in our maps. Stamen Design (@[email protected]) made something great with it already: stamen.com/mapping-the-en…

Very proud to have played a part in this @Felt + @QGIS relationship! We are the first flagship-level sustaining funder of QGIS. I know from experience how much companies in tech depend on QGIS, so: hopefully more sustaining members emerge in response.

New work from work!

Felt has learned a bunch of new tricks for data uploads including geocoding/geomatching, new numeric visualizations, and multi-dataset support

We were really pleased to use former Mapzen colleagues’ Geocode Earth for address matching

Independent Commissions draw fairer maps with more competitive districts. New research on plans from last decade from Matt Nelson that is consistent with my findings on the 2022 maps (w/ Eric McGhee and @[email protected]) discussed in @monkeycageblog: washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/….

We’ve been super-bullish on the cloud-optimized map tile storage format PMTiles lately, and now it’s supported natively in Tippecanoe!

.Christopher Kenny and @[email protected] wrote a great API for PlanScore in R. Enables you to easily extract a variety of data on new districting plans, including local government plans being developed now across the country. christophertkenny.com/PlanScoreR/
