New paper with Anne de Vries on the Journal of Ethnic & Migration Studies. We show that Muslim job seekers are less likely to be called back by European employers, the more gender unequal and authoritarian their origin country. Muslim men are especially at risk ot marginalization

Comparing gender compositions of occupations and firms, we show
(1) switches out of gender-atypicality are largest for men across occ
(2) firm compositions affect women's exits from firms AND occ.
(3) occ. and firms' comp. interact in shaping mobility
