Support IRE and NICAR! I’ve been a proud dues-paying member of IRE longer than I’ve been a dues-paying member of my own union. Supporting journalist membership orgs is vital as we all figure out how to keep doing quality independent investigative work as media transforms around us.

Not a comment on the situation specifically since I dunno, but a lot of times in a union newsroom you can get away with razzing the big boss, but going after your coworkers too is a death rattle.

Sometimes your coworkers just want to post themselves out of a job. Many such cases.

Whoever and wherever you are, my sympathies to the We Make NPR stewards who had to deal with all that and were presumably going to faithfully carry out their duty of fair representation to him anyway.
