Walney's report is dangerous, draconian and undemocratic. Masquerading as an independent report, it is an overtly political hit job on our most fundamental civil rights, including the right to protest and trial by jury. We cannot afford to underestimate how serious this threat is

The idea that we should be flying about during the climate crisis is kind of a taboo subject, but one that I think needs to be discussed.

Great to chat with dr. gianluca grimalda whose story I found compelling so it was great to get him on to speak about it in more detail.

Modelling suggests that attacking the foreign student route could wipe 0.5% off GDP! And therefore cause a recession on its own I suppose. Britain's own government has gone rogue and is threatening us all. thetimes.co.uk/article/c480fb…

Starmer says he won't abolish the two-child cap on benefits – the single biggest driver of child poverty – because of the state of the economy.

The truth is the societal cost of rising child poverty is forecast to be more than £40 billion a year by 2027

Time to think long-term

💯solidarity and support for all Unite UCU. The dissonance between values @UCU talks & current practices as an employer is painful. That UCU staff - whose hard work supports members daily - have been pushed to this point again (2nd ballot for strike in 12 months) is shameful. 1/2

This is a question for people who access adult social care - it is usual for people to have a named social worker isn’t it? & is it standard practice to place all responsibility for organising provision/support on families without any help from the council?

An MP talking about destroying key anchor institutions & significant employers in their communities, providers whose work is vital to local, regional & the national economy, places that across the board change lives for the better … mindless destruction driven by divisive hate

I just saw a video on IG from someone who knew this man. He spent his whole life working to help deaf children and was the center of deaf community life in Gaza.

He was not “Hamas” and seemed like a beautiful guy.

Community like that can’t just be recreated it’s irreplaceable

Solidarity with Unite UCU, recognised trade union for staff @UCU who just returned another impressive ballot for strike action.

There are serious and widespread concerns underpinning this dispute. ⬇️

Repairing the relationship between UCU and staff must be an urgent priority!
