Is there a place authors can post deleted scenes they really love but had to cut for story reasons? It’s fine if everyone thinks it’s fanfiction

The worst part of writing a sequel is all the recapping you need to do at the start

What if instead, we just put a summary of book 1 at the front of book 2 where you would normally have a family tree or map?! Then I can get us straight into the action! (read: makeout scenes) 🥰

I’m always thrilled to hear this! I LOVE writing multi-POV books—it’s so fun to explore how different characters interpret & internalize the exact same event.

Also, you can’t reach maximum drama without a lot of people stirring up trouble 🙃

Sometimes you're writing a scene about the opening of fake royal Congress, and you think, hey I should watch a minute of the Queen opening Parliament. And then you fall into a royal trance and watch the entire ceremony

research is awesome, but also dangerous to productivity

This is what all authors want to hear!! Well, not that we made a mom cry 😂 But we agonize over our books (especially the endings) for so long, it’s wonderful to hear that those final emotional beats really landed.

Also, book crying is the best kind of crying, right? ❤️

Today is one of those days when I I unloaded half of the clothes from the washing machine before realizing that I’d never run it in the first place.
