Staff at Banksia Hill Detention Centre, along with our Goldfields Youth Justice team, are finalists in the Australasian Youth Justice Awards.

The team of 10 coordinated Day Release for a teenager in detention to attend TAFE for Animal Care studies.

A team of prisoners and staff from Pardelup Prison Farm have used their firefighting skills to support the Forest Hill Bush Fire Brigade in the Great Southern.

It was also the first time the prison’s new fire appliance was called into action.

Prisoners from Casuarina have made nesting boxes for native wildlife as a summer school project.

The Darling Range Wildlife Shelter installed the 20 boxes, and they’re already occupied by feathered families and little marsupials.

Our Finance Team has done the maths… Our hens produce a cracking 1.3 million fresh eggs a year for use in all WA’s prisons. No yolk!

Dave worked as a bricklayer before making the change 7 years ago to become a Prison Officer.

Now, he’s retrained and joined our Special Operations Group (SOG).

Dave won the Superintendents Award on the training course.

A new Visitors Centre at Wooroloo Prison Farm has been proudly built almost entirely by prisoners.

The construction project has created a more welcoming environment to maintain contact with family and friends and taught the prisoners work-ready skills.
