All the times I’ve landed at Teterboro after 9 pm after flying through dinner (and sometimes even lunch), a diner like these was what we looked for. Open, big meal, fairly priced, and always something on the menu that would “hit the spot”

The first 601 I ever flew was serial number 3005 (yr 1983 -1A). They started with 3001.

Later 3A, 3A-ER (a 3A with a tail tank), and 3R models were serial number 5xxx, which started in 1987.

Fwiw, I’ve flown all 601 variants.

When 460 knots just isn't fast enough...

We've been cruising the globe at basically the same speed since the 1960s. Faster would be nicer, so what are the challenges facing hypersonic airliners?

Astronaut John Young smuggled a corned beef sandwich on Gemini 3 because it, and we quote, “seemed like a fun idea at the time.” The resulting crumbs? Not so fun. Read the whole story: s.si.edu/3sk5tJe
