Lest we forget. May 14th marks the arrival of the first indentured laborers from India to Fiji in 1879, under the British colonial rule. May 14th is also the day Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka carried out the 1987 coup overthrowing the Timoci Bavadra Govt that led to an exodus of Indians from Fiji.
