Each Christmas, Bradbury asked his wife to give him toys instead of any other gifts. One of his granddaughters described his home and office as a riot of activity with junk everywhere. He continued to collect toys and trinkets for the rest of his life.

Look you all. I have a quick yarn about my Joe Lansdale reading. Early ‘90s. Hunting down Ray Slater. Grooving on anything else I could get my hands on. God of the Razor. Love you, Joe!

5 living writers you'd want to have dinner with where you're comfy sitting around cracking jokes and talking about shit politicians and the state of the world. In no particular order:
1. Stephen King
2. S.A.Cosby
3. Catherine McCarthy🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
4.Gabino Iglesias
5. Joe Lansdale

Joe Lansdale The Two Bear Mambo was next. It would be unfair to describe such a fantastic novel here, deserves its own essay amd review x all the fun, horror, violence and drama it delivers plus the eerie finale which stays with you.

Joe Lansdale I think I read Leather Maiden afterwards and then decided to dive in the Hap and Leonard series. I loved Savage Season but Mucho Mojo was a class act in mystery and then I couldn’t get those characters out of my mind and the many others that came later.

Joe Lansdale I read this one ages ago and it was spellbinding. The review mentions the home invasion which was nasty and the bad guy who was tattooed and smelled like glue was hard to forget after the end.
The closure is spectacular and satisfying because after all, whew, it was just a book.
