Tonight, as we sleep soundly in our beds, we remember the bravery, determination, and sacrifice of the men of 617 Sqn who, 81 years ago tonight, undertook the daring #Dambusters mission. Many of them paid the ultimate price for the mission's success. They will not be forgotten.
On this day in 1982, the 22nd Special Air Service (SAS) Regiment carried out the Raid on Pebble Island, supported by HMS Glamorgan and HMS Argent.
Reminiscent of SAS operations during the Second World War, the successful raid disabled 11 Argentine aircraft. π«π°π¬π§

Why is our national broadcaster so ashamed of our history and traditions? Itβs time to #DefundTheBBC
