KSK is organising a food drive campaign to request kind individuals to purchase and drop off food donations at our food bank in conjunction with World Food Day.

Let's treat our street friends with wholesome meal sets this Deepavali! 🪔 We hope to give out 1,193 meal sets in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Ipoh and Pulau Pinang.

The KSK team was informed that there was an elderly Indian lady who needed medical attention. When the staff arrived, they found Ms K laying on the floor with a bloody shirt.

Giving Flowers To Women (regular beneficiaries of KSK)

Everyone deserves a little gift to light up their day, and last Saturday, during the night routes food distribution, we had a kind sponsor who donated mini bouquets of flowers to these vulnerable women.

Last Saturday, a regular client at KSK fainted during the evening food distribution rounds in KL. Volunteer doctors responded quickly, and she was sent to the hospital immediately for further treatment 🚑.

At Kechara Empowerment program, we see a diverse range of gender, race, and social backgrounds who come together to learn how to sew and bake. 🧵🍪

We recently received donations from kind Malaysians to stock up Kechara Food Bank. However, we still need donations as 2,312 families need your help. These families are still struggling to find income after the pandemic. 💔

Meet Surendran; volunteer of Kechara Soup Kitchen:

“My wife and I have always wanted to feed the homeless community, but we were unsure where they lived… (and) when we approached a few NGOs, they were mostly orphanages who were already sponsored by many companies.

If you would like to be a part of this national initiative, we will be collecting both clothes and dry food provisions🥫. Drop-off dates are Monday 25/04/22 to Monday 9/05/22 (two weeks). Please swipe for the list of requested items!

Happy Doctors' Day 2022!

Kechara Soup Kitchen's volunteer doctors assist clients with weekly health check-ups and emergency cases despite their busy schedules. Rain or shine, doctors gear up and go down the streets.

A ranger guide shared that the Orang Asli community there is still facing difficulties to make ends meet due to the restriction of tourists. He also shared that providing education for the children is a big challenge.

This is the current situation Kechara Food Bank is facing. We are running short of supplies and urgently need help. Help us continue our mission of serving the underprivileged by making monetary or in-kind donations.

Another team of volunteers from Penang drove to three villages in Gerik, Perak and gave out food provisions to 33 Orang Asli families there.

Last week, a team of Kechara Food Bank staff traveled through dirt roads and rugged terrains to give dry food to 150 Orang Asli families from five villages in Cameron Highlands.

Kechara Food Bank is raising money to get supplies for our low-income recipients nationwide. Whether monetary or in-kind, help us continue our mission of #serving the underprivileged.

Last Saturday night, we witnessed something tragic happened to a female client at Jalan Bunus, Kuala Lumpur. She was attacked by an unknown assailant resulting in a head injury and broken jaw after being checked by our medic team. She was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
