Holding people accountable doesn't mean you're against them, it means you're for them. It means you're fighting for their best, that you care enough to not allow them to settle for mediocrity.

Bless the coaches who hold all kids accountable for grades, conduct & behavior. Never doubt that choosing discipline over a win is the right thing. It matters. That example says that regardless of how good a player is, he/she will be held to a very high standard. That’s powerful!

If I could give parents one word of advice in this world is to remind their kids that the right thing will most likely be the hardest thing. I hope they always encourage them to choose the right thing over the easy thing every single time. Life is hard. Sports are hard.

Less worrying about:
Did I get noticed?
Did I get credit?
Did I get rewarded?

More focusing on:
Did I add value?
Did I get better?
Did I help others get better?

Impact > Attention

Leadership is hard. Nobody said it would be easy.
