As Canada’s representative on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, it was a great privilege to support Newfoundland&Labrador in this endeavour to repatriate an unknown soldier, and to be present for this somber ceremony at Beaumont Hamel yesterday.

Tom Settee was a Regina Rifle on D-Day in 1944. He was one of many Indigenous people in the ranks of the regiment and across the Canadian Armed Forces who served with great valour and distinction in WW2. On this 80th anniversary, June 6th, 2024 - we will remember ALL of them🇨🇦
