I'm personally really excited to see what the caring and talented folks at Ruby Central will do next. Sounds like they have some great ideas for supporting meetups and regional conferences! ❤️

The work Vinicius Stock (and I'm sure many others) is doing with the Ruby LSP is phenomenal.

Better editor support for Ruby is something I've wanted for years. It's becoming a reality.

Open source does not need donations. They are never enough, and ultimately they cannot make a difference. First and foremost, open source needs companies to be open in return: be open about the open source you are using, endorse the authors, get your logos on their repos or…

Worth saying clearly and loudly:

v2 of the sqlite-ruby gem provides everything you need for:
1. IMMEDIATE transactions
2. A non-GVL-blocking busy timeout
3. Fair retry mechanism
4. WAL mode

And we’ll be getting Rails using these features by default soon.

If you have ever:

- Raised a round of funding
- Dealt with the pain of open source license compliance as part of that process

Please DM me. We’re building a thing.

I'm getting a group together to go to the Tigers game on the Friday after RailsConf. If you want to hang out with some Rubyists and watch a ballgame, let me know!

Are you skeptical about the value of conferences for your career? I used to be, but that's changed for me in the past few years. I just got home from Sin City Ruby on Sunday and have been thinking about what it did for me. (BTW, thanks again Jason Swett!)
