Don't tell y11 this time is easy. Tell them it's hard but they've got this because they are strong and you know it.

This isn’t good. Even if some of this is just perception, that perception is damaging the trust between parents and schools.

This is a great example of properly data driven govt doing something that’s genuinely helpful for school leaders and will be for years to come. I’d have found this data invaluable as a headteacher trying to raise attendance.

Headlines like this are really revealing. That a pretty advanced maths qualification would have questions on it that most adults couldn't answer should be completely unremarkable.
Suspect this reflects a depressing belief kids don't need to know stuff they don't use every day.

Had to re-check this multiple times to ensure I had read the year group correctly. Reception teachers are incredible.

Shout out to every school leader who was picking up Y11s this morning, handing out bananas on the gate, resolving last minute revision worries, giving inspirational speeches. Thank you for what you do.

Okay so this question is obviously terribly worded, but credit where it’s due for the thinking it’s going to generate.

Wisdom, as always, from Ben Newmark. There is no such thing as “SEND kids”.

We do something v similar at Axiom Maths. Candidates are told what topics we'll be asking about in advance and what kind of examples to prepare. Only difference is we don't give the exact wording as we don't want people pressured to rehearse a *perfect* answer.

I am sure Patrick Farmbrough is right about this.
