Now that groups other than straight white males dominate literary fiction and playwriting, I think you guys can criticize each other like you’re straight white males.
None of us hesitate to criticize other straight white males because it’s mean or from a sense of group loyalty.

This is hilarious.
How is that small group of protestors restricting the gigantic area from others? He's walking around and it looks completely empty.
And how are extremely high tuition-paying students 'trespassers'?

BREAKING: In solidarity with Columbia, hundreds of Yale students have just constructed an encampment of tents outside a Board of Trustees meeting.

Organizers say they won’t leave until Yale divests from all military weapons manufacturing.

The remarkable demand (and forging of a new rule against protests one doesn't agree with) that protests be restricted so that people can't see or hear them.

Multiple ironies of universities dedicated to free ideas arresting tuition-paying students for pro-Palestine empathy labeled antisemitic & unsafe when many protestors Jewish & the ones unsafe are the protestors.

Amber Sparks Lincoln Michel Some of the Vuong criticism might be a kind of release from a few years ago when he was critic-protected. Now that things are loosening up a bit, and you won’t necessarily be called a racist/homophobe, some are releasing that they don’t think he’s as good as was sold.

Amber Sparks Lincoln Michel As far as piling on, a few people have to go first and when they’re not met with vicious attacks/accusations, others come out. Some of it is piling on, others are walking out into a meadow without getting shot. Vuong will survive a day of negativity on Twitter. Every writer can.

I find the allergy to criticism in the lit world strange when we're talking about extremely well-selling, tenured, award-winning writers. Maybe it's 'mean' to critique a small press nobody, but our most famous writers? If they aren't fair game no one is.

Ah, twitter.
The Khmer Rouge was, percentage-wise, maybe history's most murderous regime, killing 1/4 of its own population in just 3.5 years.
A regime of starvation, torture, execution, medical experiments, forced marches...
Had they not been overthrown, they'd have killed more

Launching your poetry-themed album about your libertine fuckboy ex on the 200th death anniversary of noted libertine fuckboy poet Lord Byron is pretty good marketing, not gonna lie

My alma mater Columbia University has a history of expanding into and gobbling up property in working class Harlem neighborhoods, driving up housing costs. Its resistance to occupation clearly only extends to activity from which it can’t profit
