We make the mistake of thinking the government is like a business. It is not. Countries are not companies. A government is more like an NFP with beneficiaries (us).

So a surplus is not a saving, it's an underspend.

And an underspend is a failure of an NFP to fulfil its mission.

I would highlight that New Caledonia is only a 2hr 30min flight from Brisbane.

Closer in distance to the Australian mainland than even New Zealand is.

Not many people realise this current french territory exists as one of our closest neighbours
