On this day in 1998, NOAA-15 was launched.

While initially planned to last for only 2 years, most instruments are still perfectly operational to this day!

And here's an image from its APT downlink - just as perfectly functional received this morning.

The repeaters are up and we're looking forward to the Dayton Hamvention and American Rocketry Challenge National Finals next weekend.
