When reactionaries weaponize words like groomer, pedophile, etc. it is NOT bc they actually care about sexual violence, nor is their use of them the same as someone outing a rapist in their community. False equivalencies only serve to harm actual victims of sexual assault.
Tangentially related but I've seen a similar rhetoric in conspiracy theorist circles but abt politicians. Their objective is also to use it against you either to manipulate through emotion or to claim you don't care abt children/are a pedophile yourself if you doubt their word.
