Stop calling it a conflict. Let's start there. Rohingya were never a party of the conflict. We have always been bearing the brunt of stupid male leaderships and genocidal forces.

If you believe this. You're an idiot. I'm older than you, and I've known that I've been a Rohingya my whole life. You're just very ignorant and easily manipulated by whoever carries guns. Is that your ultimate heroes? Men with weapons?

Letters w/ the terms 'request' & 'plead' to Army will not stop them from committing mass atrocity. What is it with this country being so polite to murderers? DEMAND, ORDER, PRESSURE. Literally use ANY other word. What's accountability when you have to bow to murderers?

This guy is defo not on the resistance side either. All he's been doing is to create more and more ethnic divides. Take his word seriously and you may fall into a trap of bamar nationalism.

The situation of Rohingya IDPs from Buthidaung is worse. They are facing severe shortage of food and clean water. Things are very expensive. Their movement is also restricted in a very limited space. It is crucial to help them in any feasible way.

Every single “peace building” project in Arakan predicated on the notion that conflict there is “communal,” or a somehow just a big misunderstanding, is a waste of time and energy.

And the AA/ULA is going to show everyone why:

They are oppressors, the oppressed.

Rakhine indigeneity is never questioned b/c your ancestors were bamar (burman). In a country where the status quo is made up mostly of burmans, are we surprised that the ethnic proximity to burmans are better treated & now thrives to be 'chosen people' w/ full control & power?

The tweet is far too neutral when we shouldn't be. Given Canada's determination of crimes against Rohingya as genocide, it's an obligation to ensure our community is not at further risk of mass atrocity--which 'Arakan Army' or Rakhine rebel group is perpetrating against

So many people fight and rush to be kings, when they don't even have enough empathy to feed the stray dogs and cats in their neighbourhood.

So much thirst for power, no matter how many people/lives they step on to get to the ivory tower.

This isn't ignorance. This isn't being brainwashed. This is willingness to ignore any truth established by anthropological/historical evidence. This IS a genocidal language. 'Bengali' is used to mark Rohingya, outsiders w/ no roots in Arakan to justify expelling & destroying us.

Don't call me Bengali call me by my name, Rohingya. 'Bengali' refers to people from Bangladesh, but I am from Myanmar, Arakan State. So, I'm a Rohingya. If I called you Chinese, you would feel uncomfortable. I feel the same way when you call me Bengali.Twan Mrat Naing
