May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month - a time to celebrate the rich heritage of these communities and all they contribute to our Commonwealth and our nation!

It’s National Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you to the teachers all across the Commonwealth for the work that you do! And special congratulations to Avanti Yamamoto, Virginia’s 2024 Teacher of the Year!

Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Honorable Winsome Earle-Sears tells students that there is “a thing to be done” and that they should strive for greatness.

Last week, I was honored to speak to Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) graduates from Phoebus High School who received full-ride scholarships totaling over $2 million! Congratulations to these bright scholars who are the future of our nation!

On Saturday, I was honored to deliver the Commencement Address at Ferrum College. Congratulations to the students who graduated this past weekend! Strive for greatness because as someone once said: “Don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are bootprints on the moon.”

Today on National Day of Prayer, I join with folks across the Commonwealth in praying for Virginia and our Nation.

In 2022, LEGO put its first U.S. manufacturing plant in Virginia, creating 1,700+ new jobs.  
 
We celebrated the Chesterfield groundbreaking in 2023.  
 
Today, I had the pleasure of visiting LEGO Headquarters & building on our successful partnership.

After repeated warnings and refusal to disperse, law enforcement must protect Virginians. My administration will continue to fully support campus, local and state law enforcement and university leadership to keep our campuses safe.

I am told that these protesters seem to be well-funded and well-supplied with food, tarps, tents, and pallets. Once the dust settles, I think we will see this was not entirely a peaceful protest.

Parents, law enforcement have been working to ensure the safety of all.
