Some good news. 5 out of 7 mega hoardings Hackney Council wants to clutter our pavements have had their planning appeal dismissed. Two on TfL pavement are allowed. TfL must refuse highways permission as this sets a precedent for councils selling pavement & against London policy.

Yes Chris, The evidence is that real blind people can’t use these bus stops and are losing their right to independent travel.

.TfL found four casualties as part of their bus stop bypass safety review, but if should be noted the period under investigation was 2020 to 2022 inclusive. This was during covid when bus use was massively suppressed, often only used by key workers and few vulnerable passengers.

In which only 1 of 4 cyclists behaved as they should. Two cycled up the wrong way and one careered across the pavement in a few minutes. Do London Cycling or the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan really think a speed hump and education will enable older, disabled and blind people to use?

Of the 193 serious cyclist on pedestrian injuries in London, two were found by TfL at the 164 bus stop bypasses . The 164 stops represent a minuscule fraction of the pavement network across London. So bus stop bypasses must be the most dangerous stretches of pavement in London.
