USS Constitution has been honored on a U.S. postage stamp twice. On Oct 21, 1947, a 3-cent stamp commemorated the 150th anniversary of the ship’s launch. The second was issued as a 'forever stamp' in 2012. Read the story: bit.ly/4bkOZBG

In 2022, we turned to a group of young adults as part of a TAPS program in Boston to lend their talent to create beautiful murals depicting USS CONSTITUTION. Our staff still enjoys them every day on the walls of our office!

2/3 Luckily, Edward Davis picked up Hope at sea while fishing near St. George, Maine before it could land on the rocky shore. 👏 He kept the boat safe all summer, until Sarah, from our Museum staff, met him in March 2024.

1/3 We have another miniboat update! First launched in 2022, Hope made an initial bumpy journey from Florida and was helped along the way by many people. Hope made its way to South Carolina and eventually Maine!

3 /3 Unfortunately, the family went back the next day and found someone had already taken the boat. We don't know who has the boat now, so it seems we have an endpoint in Special's journey for now. 🇫🇷

2 /3 After the boat's GPS stopped reporting, a Hungarian family on vacation in the area watched it come in with the tide! The Matyas family moved it above the tide line and emailed us photos!

1 /3 The miniboat Special, built by third graders at Boston's Donald McKay School in 2022, landed in Plouescat, France one year to the day that it was relaunched off the coast of South Carolina by the container ship M/V Colorado Express. 🇺🇸
