Meanwhile, NYT/Siena poll throws cold water on theory that Haley’s strong showing in suburban areas =sign of weakness for Trump in general: “a near majority of Ms. Haley’s supporters (48-31) say they voted for Mr. Biden in the last election instead of Mr. Trump.”

Until Ron DeSantis takes a clear eyed accounting of what went wrong in his 2024 campaign and rids himself of his sycophantic palace guard, he should stick to being the best Governor he can be.

This is ridiculous! In 2018, Taylor Swift endorsed Phil Bredesen in her home state of TN for Senate and Marcia Blackburn beat him by 11 points.

Given the fact that SFA Fund spent 3.5x more per vote than MAGA Inc. in New Hampshire ($48 vs $169), and nearly 7x per vote than MAGA Inc. in Iowa ($218 vs $1482) -- SFA Fund could raise more than $250 million and still get demolished in South Carolina.

For those just tuning into 2024, Trump team is running an organized, competent & ruthlessly efficient campaign that's led to 2 big, early state wins. Local operatives in Iowa, NH noticed. This is not his Wild West operation of 2016, Dems should take note: bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

And my argument would be that successful campaigns find and focus on issues/traits where there is a clear contrast with their opponents. Not ones where they are at the short end of the stick.

Fact: there is literally no evidence that GOP voters will vote against Trump in general election. He will get 95% of GOP vote in November. He did better among GOP in 2020 than he did in 2016. He did better among GOP than McCain did in 2008 and Romney in 2012.

Trump has actually run a far more issues-based campaign than Haley has in New Hampshire.

Trump’s recent TV ads have focused on just two issues: immigration and Social Security.

Haley’s, meanwhile, are about electability, exhaustion with Trump and Biden and generational change.
