The Northern Lights made a rare appearance in Tonbridge last night. Our thanks to Andrew Davison, CCF Adjutant, for capturing the phenomenon at the School, early this morning (Saturday 11 May).

Tonbridge boys have once more come top in the Trinity Maths Competition, a global contest which tests students’ problem-solving skills under time pressure.

On Tuesday (30 April), the Upper Sixth headed to Walthamstow Hall to play Netball and Lacrosse. In a tightly fought Netball match, Wally Hall won by two goals, although the skills of the boys were impressive. Lacrosse was not as close with the final score being 5-1 to Wally Hall!

Tonbridge and The New Beacon recently joined forces to compete in the UKMT Team Maths challenge. First Years Andy and Noah worked well alongside Eli and Shabd from The New Beacon, and the boys finished as runners-up in the competition. Well done, all!

The latest Tonbridge Profile features Jonathan Kennard (WW 98-03). Jonathan has enjoyed a fast-paced career in motorsports, competing in Le Mans and acting as Test Driver for Williams Racing in 2009.

Richard Evans, Housemaster of Welldon and Teacher of English at Tonbridge, has had a poem long-listed for the National Poetry Prize, selected from more than 19,000 submissions.

Award-winning Shakespeare scholar Dr Ben Higgins held an afternoon seminar for Tonbridge boys on Friday (19 April). Shakespeare's Syndicate, Dr Higgins’ recent book, won a Shakespeare’s Globe Book Award in 2023.
