11 May 1959: Jimmy Magill signed from Portadown. 

Jimmy Magill was involved in a three-way battle with Len Wills and Dave Bacuzzi for the right-back slot for much of his first two seasons at the Club.

Throughout his Highbury sojourn, Bacuzzi contested the right-black slot with Jimmy Magill and made just 48 starts in his six-year spell.

The outside right proved a useful asset in his 13 years and played 170 times.

The winger served with the Royal Field Artillery during the First World War but played only three times in Arsenal's first two seasons after the war.
