A few photos that I took over the weekend in my rural countryside village.

Spring has definitely sprung here. Lots of flowers out already for mid-March. 🌼🌸🐝🐑

It almost certainly won't happen, but the first 20°C airmass at 850 hPa for the UK has already been modelled today on a GEM perturbation.

Although the UK has already recorded 19.9°C this year in January, today marks the first time that I have seen 20°C temperatures modelled in the ensembles.

In this case, it shows quite widespread 20C+ temps across two consecutive days. This is just an observation, not a forecast.

This has got to be one of the craziest temperature contrasts that I can remember seeing for England in winter, certainly in recent memory.

Highs of around 13°C in London area on Thursday, but travel only 100 miles further north to Nottingham and it will be 0°C and freezing! 🥶
