The footage of cops pulling down student protestors’ masks and forcing their faces in front of news cameras is so sickening. The point is ritual humiliation and actively endangering their lives.

Biden has the audacity to give that speech that protest shouldn’t lead to disorder — while planning to speak at Morehouse’s commencement— Martin Luther King Jr’s alma mater.

MLK spoke about white moderates more devoted to order than to justice.

We’ve entered a new era. Escalating protests over war, housing, stolen rights, labor, and even basic supplies are going to be met by escalating violence from the state.

This is a moment to recognize that fact and steel ourselves.

'Order must prevail'

The order of things is facilitating genocide, so no, it ought not prevail. Also, when your campaign strategy hinges on the fact that your opponent is a threat to democracy, speaking and acting like an authoritarian doesn't exactly help your cause.

No protest will ever be peaceful enough. You can protest by sitting on some grass and someone will come up to you and say 'hey that grass is private property, that's trespassing' and the cops will show up. To the state the ideal protest is one that is completely invisible
