Mandatory automatic refunds for a three hour delay essentially guarantee that flight prices will be going up imo. That's a... very small window of time in the grand scheme of things, especially in winter.

The p-values here vary a lot, from .008 to .094, so I'd like to see this replicate before declaring it a done deal.

That said, banning phones in schools, at minimum during class, seems like a complete no brainer and should be the default position imo.

The political value of TikTok to China is very clear, and explains their intense anger and agitation about the potential ban.

In non-recession periods, switching jobs has usually been a fairly solid means of increasing your pay. Staying in your job can be overrated from a wage perspective.

After extreme growth post-COVID, sunbelt and western housing has cooled down. From Q1 2023-Q1 2024, we see the largest increases concentrated in the midwest and the eastern half of the country.

Unfortunately, the northeastern corridor continues to grow ever-costlier.

Keep in mind that most of these crops go to feed cows. You could stop growing these livestock crops tomorrow and the only major impact would large increases in the cost of beef and dairy.

People would hate this, no doubt, but it presents no existential threat.

Less than 1,400 units of housing were permitted in the San Francisco metro area last quarter, the lowest amount since Q1 2012. Total disaster

For context, metro Austin permitted 8,400 units and metro DC permitted 5,600 over the same time period. Even metro Omaha permitted 1,900.

Oh my god this NIMBY is genuinely unhinged. He was arrested and charged in 2022 for making violent statements against Bozeman elected officials.

How do you do this and still label yourself 'progressive?'
