A student from Spruce Mountain Middle School in Jay, Maine just this afternoon asked me who the favorite person was that I have worked with in my career. I said Joe Lieberman.

Congratulations Black Bears!

This morning, the Senate voted 70-29 to overwhelmingly pass the national security supplemental bill. These important investments are in America’s national interest. My statement:

Maine voters should decide who wins the election – not a Secretary of State chosen by the Legislature.  

The Secretary of State’s decision would deny thousands of Mainers the opportunity to vote for the candidate of their choice, and it should be overturned.

Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, the first woman to serve on the Supreme Court, lay in repose in the Great Hall of the Court today. These are a few of the photos, paintings, and other memorabilia that were on display. In paying my respects, I wore a scarf that she gave me years ago.
